8th Marian exhibit opens in Tarlac

TARLAC CITY -- The eighth Marian exhibit, featuring different images of the Blessed Virgin Mary coming from the Dioceses of Bulacan, Tarlac and Metro Manila, opened at the Museo ng Tarlac recently.

Tarlac Bishop of Tarlac Enrique Macaraeg, Divine David, wife of Tarlac Vice-Governor Carlito David, Ferdinand Borlongan, Hermano for this year’s exhibit and Provincial Tourism Officer Arsenio Lugay II led the ribbon cutting ceremonies signaling the opening of the month-long annual exhibit themed, “Gratia Plena” (Full of Grace).

Reverend Father Elmer Gonzales, Spiritual Director of the Marian Exhibit, thanked Governor Susan Yap and Tarlac Second District Representative Victor Yap for the realization of the exhibit and narrated how the Marian exhibit started in the province.

He likewise acknowledged the contributions and influence of the late Governor and Representative Jose Yap for making the exhibit possible in the province.

“It was Tatang Aping who suggested that we should also have an exhibit in Tarlac,” he said.

Bishop Macaraeg for his part urged Tarlaqueños to always pray the Rosary.

Tarlac Vice-Mayor Genaro Mendoza, Board Member Antonio Cervantes Jr., City Councilor Ricky Diolazo and hundreds of Marian devotees attended the opening rites.

Last year, the exhibit recorded more than 30,000 visitors and the same number of visitors is expected this year.

The culmination of the exhibit will be on September 29. (Ric Sapnu)
