Rural Bank of Digos bags banking award

THE Rural Bank of Digos, Inc. (RBDI) was recently awarded by the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP) as Most Outstanding Rural Bank in the Country – Third Place.

RBDI, which is the only awardee outside Luzon, also received a special award as Best Availer Agri - Agra Loans.

RBDI president Giovanni Derequito Gabriento, senior vice president Eugenio Derequito, and executive vice president Genelyd Derequito Bautista personally received the awards at the Jose Rizal Hall, Philippine International Convention Center PICC Complex in Manila last August 14.

The award was presented by National Treasurer of the Philippines Rosalia de Leon; Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri; LBP President Alex Buenaventura; LBP Director Victor Gerardo Bulatao; LBP Director Virgilio DV Robes and LBP Director Crispino Aguelo.

The event was also attended by LBP senior vice president Mindanao Lending Group Joselito Gutierrez; LBP executive vice president Agricultural & Development Sector Head Edward John Reyes; LBP vice president Davao Lending Center Head Charlotte Conde and LBP Account Officer Arnel Caalim.

RBDI bested the other rural banks in the region and in the country in the three criteria set by LBP -- organizational management, business operations and financial management; pass on rate to small farmers and fishermen; and partnership with LBP.

The head office of RBDI is located along Rizal Avenue, Digos City and has five branches in Digos (main), Bansalan, Malita, Kidapawan, and Antipas. Among its services are acceptance of savings, time, and current account deposits. It also grants agricultural, commercial, industrial, microfinance, barangay, salary and pension loans. Other services include on-line deposits/withdrawals, Western Union transactions, SSS and Philhealth payments, electric and telephone bill payments. (PR)
