A TAXI driver was robbed and stabbed by his unidentified passenger at La Costa Brava, Barangay Zone 15, Talisay City Wednesday night.

Police identified the victim as Marden Leonor, 51, driver of Saint Nicholas taxi and resident of Barangay Efigenio, Talisay City.

Talisay City Police Station chief Joeresty Coronica said Thursday the suspect hired Leonor’s taxi with plate number FWV 908 along Ramos Street in Bacolod City to bring him to Talisay City.

When they arrived at La Costa Brava Subdivision, the suspect, who was sitting at the back seat, suddenly attacked him several times using an ice pick.

Coronica said Leonor tried to fight and he managed to open the taxi’s door and sought police assistance, while the suspect took his collection worth P1, 200 and escaped.

He said the victim sustained wounds in his chest and hands. He was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital.

Leonor described the suspect to be in his early 20s.(MAP)
