Top drug suspect evades arrest, but 3 others arrested

A TOP drug personality in Himamaylan City evaded arrest but his three companions were arrested in a raid conducted by operatives at Purok 4, Barangay Sara-et, of said city at about 6 p.m. Wednesday.

Arrested were Roderick Gonzaga, 38, Mark Gil Sumog-oy, 18, and Loreto Aldea, 22, all residents of Himamaylan City, while Charles Jason Javelosa, who is number one in the drug watchlist of said city, evaded arrest.

Supt. Antonietto Canete, chief of Himamaylan City Police Station, yesterday said Javelosa has a pending arrest warrant for violation of Section 11 of Republic Act 9165 with bail recommended P200, 000 for his provisional liberty.

He said Javelosa and her friends were seen inside the nipa hut constructed at the center of the fishpond having a pot session.

When policemen arrived, Javelosa escaped through the secret bamboo wall and he jumped off into the pond.

Canete said Javelosa fired at them several times and fled while his three companions were arrested in the area.

Police recovered from their possession a small elongated plastic sachet of suspected shabu, five big plastic sachets of suspected shabu and drugs paraphernalia.

Police also recovered a .9mm, one magazine of KG-9, three live ammunition of .45 caliber and assorted identification cards.

The suspects are detained at the Himamaylan City Police Station and are facing charges for illegal possession of firearms and illegal drugs.
