College girl raped, killed in creek

A FEMALE college freshman was found dead in a muddy creek after she was allegedly raped and killed by three unidentified men at Barangay Bubog, Talisay City Thursday morning.

Senior Police Officer 2 Marlen Necesario of Talisay City Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD) said the body of the 16-year-old girl, with her underwear pulled down, was found at around 9:30 a.m.

The victim, who was wearing her school uniform, was found by her neighbor who was fishing near the area.

Police also recovered from the scene of the crime the girl’s pair of shoes. Her bag and umbrella were missing.

Necesario said the victim, a student of Silay Institute in Silay City, was about to attend her class at 11 a.m. Thursday.

Investigation revealed that at about 8 a.m., the victim was walking toward her school when three unidentified men wearing bonnets waylaid her.

Necesario said that before the incident, three men were seen standing along the creek.

They could have really planned to molest and kill the victim in the area, the police officer said.

The body of the victim was subjected to an autopsy.

Necesario said they are still conducting further investigation to determine the identity of the suspects.

Last month, a female college student was also raped and killed inside a sugarcane plantation at Barangay Estefania, Bacolod City.

Her perpetrator, Ricardo Ewayan, a tricycle driver, was arrested by operatives of Bacolod City Police Office and was charged for robbery with homicide.(MAP)
