THREE women, one of whom has links with an inmate of the national penitentiary, were caught in a series of drug busts in the villages of San Roque and Kinasang-an, Pardo, Cebu City.
A joint team of City Drug Enforcement Unit and City Intelligence Branch operatives arrested Emelita Batawang Cabaluna, 42, and her alleged cohort Irish Rentillosa Obido, 33, on Tuesday, September 19, in Sitio Paradise 2, Kinasang-an, Pardo.
They yielded 4.63 grams of "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) with a Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) value of P54,634.
Cabaluna, the target of the operation, had been listed as a high value target level 1.
Investigation showed that Cabaluna is the common-law wife of Eric Alo, who is an inmate of the National Bilibid Prison in Muntinlupa City after his conviction of drug charges.
A week-long surveillance showed that Cabaluna was employed as a secretary of a store in Barangay Cogon, Pardo, Cebu City.
She allegedly can dispose of 25 to 100 grams of shabu per week.
Around 9:15 p.m. of same day, operatives also caught Anna Maris Canales Pagalang, 34, in Arellano Blvd., San Roque.
She yielded 12 grams of white crystals believed to be shabu. The contraband has a DDB value of P141,600.
Meanwhile, police also arrested Virgelio Padimdim Calinawan in Barangay Pahina Central.
Calinawan was allegedly found in possession of 6.98 grams of suspected shabu worth P82,364.
