Japanese attempts to steal guard's gun, arrested

A 25-YEAR-OLD Japanese national was arrested for drunkenness and for trying to steal the gun of a security guard of Dragon Inn Hotel at 5:20 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, on Echavez St., Cebu City.

Police identified the foreigner as Ueno Takuma, a call center agent.

Investigation showed the foreigner tried to enter the hotel. Sensinghe was drunk.

But the guard on-duty Jay Royn Acevedo Odic barred him from entering the hotel which irritated Takuma.

Takuma got mad and tried to grab Odic's service .38 revolver to no avail.

After Takuma was subdued, he was arrested and turned over to the Parian Police Station. He will face a complaint for violating the city ordinance that prohibits public drunkenness. (KAL)
