Ai-Ai delas Alas on getting married, signing a 'prenup'

SOON-TO-BE bride Comedy Queen Ai-Ai delas Alas said money has not been an issue between her and fiancé, Gerald Sibayan.

This December, the couple will finally tie the knot in a private wedding ceremony in an undisclosed venue in Manila.

As for money matter, the comedienne said Sibayan himself asked for a prenuptial agreement to finally shut down any negative issues against him.

Delas Alas does not want to discuss what is written on the prenuptial agreement but said it does not concern her.

"Para na din sa kapayapaan ni Gerald 'yan para wala na din siyang basher and intriga. Sa mag-asawa naman, normal man or artista, wala naman 'yun. Pera lang 'yun at hindi 'yun ang batayan ng pagsasama ninyo ng matagal. Ang batayan ay kung magkakaintindihan kayo. Although kailangan ninyo 'yun na mag-asawa, hindi doon umiikot ang relasyon ninyo," she said.

She also pointed out that a "prenup" does not guarantee that your other half will not ask for money in the instance of a separation.

The actress said there's more important thing in a union of two people.

"Maraming beses na akong kinasal and marami na din akong pre-nup. Hindi guarantee na kung may pre-nup ka eh hindi ka makukunan ng pera. 'Pag gusto kang lokohin o huthutan, magagawa talaga. Ang mas importante at ang natutunan ko din na dapat nasa center ng relationship si God. 'Yun ang isa sa nga sikreto ng successful relationship," she ended.

The couple is expecting 300 guests from their closest family and friends from in and out of show business during the wedding.

Among those expected to attend the wedding and are part of the entourage are Barbie Forteza, Valeen Montenegro, Jerald Napoles, Bayani Agbayani, Ruffa Mae Quinto, Marian Rivera, Ogie Alcasid and wife Regine Velasquez, Piolo Pascual, Pops Fernandez, Sharon Cuneta and Eugene Domingo.

Delas Alas shared that they are halfway done with the wedding preparations and she is nothing like any "bridezilla" as she has a team doing all the works for her.

After the wedding, the couple will head to Europe for their honeymoon. The comedienne said the trip is a gift from APT boss Tony Tuviera.

When asked how she's feeling now that in less than three months she's going to be Mrs. Sibayan, the actress said she's excited, happy and contented with life.

She said she is also glad that people are happy and looking forward to her wedding.

"Masaya na lang lahat. Masaya kami, masaya mga anak ko. Nawala na yung mga bashers. (Nakita nila na) sa love naman, there's no age," she said at the press conference for her upcoming movie "Bes and the Beshies" under Cineko Productions.

Delas Alas believes that people around her and those who follow her personal life and professional career have already seen that Sibayan has only good intentions with her. She said her partner has already proven himself to many people. (SunStar Philippines)
