Miss KasamBESHIE 2018 set in Zamboanga City

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is set to host the first-ever Search for Miss KasamBESHIE 2018 on May 5, 2018 in Zamboanga City.

DOLE regional director Ofelia Domingo said the Miss KasamBESHIE search, which will be held at a local shopping center, will feature talented and hard-working kasambahays (household workers) who are 18 years old and above and works in Zamboanga Peninsula Region.

The search is aimed at drumming up awareness of Republic Act 10361, otherwise known as the “Domestic Workers Act” or “Batas Kasambahay”. It is one of the activities for the month-long Labor Day celebration.

R.A. 10361 is a landmark law that covers protection and welfare of domestic workers and strengthens respect, protection and promotion of the rights and welfare of domestic workers.

Domingo said the grand winner of the pageant will bring home P15,000 in cash and gift packs from event sponsors.

Domingo said interested applicants should submit the following requirements: filled-out application form, one passport sized photograph and proof of employment on or before April 25, 2018 at the nearest DOLE office.

The application forms are available at the DOLE regional and field offices.

Other activities lined up include games, skills demonstration, and free services such as manicure, pedicure, haircut and massage.
