2 tobacco company employees robbed

TWO employees of a tobacco company were robbed by six unidentified men around 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 20, along the Provincial Highway, Barangay Damsite in Murcia, Negros Occidental.

Police identified the victims as Elmar Siason, 30, salesmen of Japan Tobacco International, and a resident of Barangay Alangilan, Bacolod City, and his helper Gregin Bañadera, 26, of Barangay Zone 2, Cadiz City.

Investigation conducted by Murcia Municipal Police Station showed the victims were collecting payment from their customers when the armed suspects threatened them and took their collection.

The suspects carted away P50,000, including P5,000 in personal cash and a cellular phone.

The police said the suspects fled on motorcycles.

Follow-up operation is ongoing.

In another development, a teenager lost his motorcycle to two unidentified assailants who waylaid him along the highway of Purok Anahaw, Barangay Sampinit in Bago City, Negros Occidental around 5 a.m. Wednesday.

Police identified the victim as Jade Mosquera, 19, of San Luis, Barangay Paloma, Valladolid.

The victim told the police he was on his way home when the incident happened.

The Bago police are still conducting further investigation.
