THE town of San Enrique, Iloilo, will host the third Light of Peace ceremony slated on August 29 featuring some 10,000 to 15,000 lighted candles signifying inner peace and brotherhood of mankind.
San Enrique Mayor Ramona P. Go said a memorandum of agreement was signed between the organizer Middle Way Meditation Institute (MMI) of Thai monks and the local government unit and Provincial Government officials.
Venerable Burin Thitakusalo, director of MMI, said the program is the third ceremony held in the province of Iloilo.
Go said her town is ready to host the big international event. The lighted candles will be placed in the school grounds of the elementary and nearby high school and preparations are ongoing for the safety and comfort of the participants.
Go said she had participated in a previous Light of Peace program and found the ceremony as life changer with inner peace of the mind and body.
