THREE illegal fishers were caught in Sitio Tarung, Barangay Doong, Bantayan around 2:30 p.m. last Thursday.
The team led by Chief Insp. Florendo Fajardo, the town police chief, arrested Ronilo Flores, 26; Freddie Sabolo, 52; and Marvin Alora, 36.
The warrant of arrest was issued by Bogo City Regional Trial Court Branch 61 Judge Antonio Marigomen.
Fajardo said the fishermen violated Section 96 of Republic Act 8550, or the Philippine Fisheries Code of 1998, which prohibits fishing in fishery reserves and sanctuaries. Bail was set at P12,000 each. (KAL)
