THE point of eating out, apart from trying different kinds of food, is the liberty of enjoying it with friends and family without having to slave away at the kitchen. But lately, restaurants have provided patrons the luxury to cook some of the food selections right at their tables. That comes as no surprise seeing as it is fun, interactive not to mention it adds appeal, making a whole new and completely unique dining experience.

One such restaurant is Yakimix. It is an eat- and drink-all-you-can restaurant that opened its doors to Cebuanos in May this year. Nestled at Capitol Square on Escario St., Cebu City, it is the first branch in Cebu and the 13th among the many branches in the country. Yakimix has already attracted foodies in the city with its wide array of cuisines to choose from. It offers more than 150 dishes including the selection of drinks and desserts.

With the interior set in a modish ambience coupled with plush fixtures, the establishment can accommodate more than 200 diners and it also houses a function room fit for private gatherings.

Yakimix boasts of food selections ranging from Japanese and Filipino, to Korean and Cantonese. Customers can look forward to the different stations in the place including the sushi bar which displays more than 10 kinds of sushi as well as different types of sashimi. Among the highlights apart from the fusion of Asian dishes would be the ample selection of raw meat with a wide range of beef, chicken, pork, seafood, vegetables and other selections to choose from the buffet which customers can cook at the easy to use smokeless grill conveniently planted on every dining table. Diners can also ask assistance from the staff should they have difficulty using the grill.

Even the kids will certainly have a field day with the assortment of desserts and candies including a chocolate fountain which they can enjoy to their heart’s content.

Yakimix is open daily from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. until 11 p.m.
