Ex-NPA falls in anti-drug bust

A FORMER New People’s Army (NPA) member was caught in a drug bust in Sitio Pandayan, Barangay Poblacion Occidental, Consolacion, Cebu at 11 p.m. last Saturday.

Supt. Mina Domingo, town police chief, identified the ex-rebel as Luciano Gaco Poro, who allegedly yielded 12.50 grams of suspected shabu with a market value of P147,500.
Operatives also seized the marked P500 bill used in the drug bust and cash amounting to P1,000 believed to be proceeds from the shabu trade.

Domingo said Poro had been listed as a street level target.

The suspect was formerly known as Ka Jurey where he reportedly served as the vice platoon leader of rebels operating in Sogod twon, northern Cebu.

Four hours earlier, Peter Ann Pitogo, 43; Jilly Quino Pitogo, 44; and Vito Ragudo Fajardo, 40, were caught in Barangay Tayud, yielding 0.24 gram of suspected shabu worth P2,832.

All the arrested suspects will be charged for violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, which sets no bail for illegal drug traders. (KAL)
