WORLD-RENOWNED hotelier Dusit International formally launched its serviced apartment, Dusit Thani Residence, in Davao City.
Featuring 168 full-service units, Dusit Thani Residence is touted to open new options for upscale accommodations for long-staying business travelers from around the globe.
"Dusit Thani Residence will offer a reprieve from the hustle and bustle of urban Davao. We have planned this urban residence and hotel to exude a resort-like experience that combines Filipino warmth and joyfulness, and Dusit's trademark personalized Thai hospitality," Evelyn Singson, president and vice chair of Philippine Hoteliers Inc., the owning company of Dusit Thani Manila, said in Friday's formal opening of the property showroom.
Singson said Dusit International has partnered with established Filipino real estate developer, Torre Lorenzo in the conceptualization and construction of Dusit Thani Residence and the adjoining dusitD2 Hotel.
This is the first Dusit Thani Residences in Southeast Asia, as the company's other serviced apartments are located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi. The property is scheduled for turnover in 2018.
The main highlight of the project is the "amenity theater" that fosters community and shared activities. Bound by the hotel and the residential tower blocks, the amenity theater contains the swimming pools, water features and decks amidst a tropical landscaped setting. Complementing this central feature are the dining outlets, function rooms, children's play area, and wellness facilities. An infinity edge pool will be located at the second level.
"The architecture is contemporary and mindful of the comfort of our guests. The design incorporates tropical elements that allow for shading and ventilation while maximizing the use of natural lighting," Torre Lorenzo president Tomas Lorenzo said.
Dusit International and Torre Lorenzo have tapped Rchitects Inc. to lead the project development. The firm has created landmark resort and hotel projects in Boracay, Bohol, Ortigas, Cagayan de Oro and Palawan.
Rchitects Inc. is working with Manny Samson + Associates (MSA), a leading interior design company focused on decorating for hospitality projects across Southeast Asia.
The property is located within Torre Lorenzo's Siam 8000 property complex on Maryknoll Road in Lanang, Davao City.
Once completed, Dusit Thani Residence will provide easy access to the main business activities in Davao yet still offers a safe and secure oasis at the end of a busy day. Guests and residents will enjoy rooms that showcase prime views of the city's skyline and seascapes.
