BACOLOD City Lone District Representative Greg Gasataya said he will remain with the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC) despite the mass oath-taking of local officials to become members of the ruling Partido Demokratiko Pilipino-Lakas ng Bayan (PDP-Laban).
Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson had earlier said he will also stay with the NPC.

Gasataya said the NPC has a “working alliance” with the PDP-Laban that he doesn’t see any reason to transfer to the administration party.
Gasataya made the statement ahead of the mass-oath taking of about 9,000 local officials in Negros Occidental with the PDP-Laban as confirmed by Third District Representative Alfredo Benitez.
The oath-taking is scheduled on October 5 at the Victorias City Coliseum with House Speaker Pantaleon Alvarez as the officiating official.
Gasataya said: “I see no reason to transfer to another political party. We have been supporting the programs of the President for the welfare of the people.
“There is no need for a reason because it is an individual conviction,” he added.
