Pampanga cops test negative on drugs

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO -- The Pampanga Police Provincial Office (PPPO) manifested its strong commitment on the campaign against illegal drugs as its personnel tested negative on the drug examination conducted recently.

PPPO Director Senior Superintendent Joel Consulta said the results of the drug examination revealed that all 250 Pampanga cops are negative on the use of illegal drugs.

"I am proud to say that all our chiefs of police and staff in the PPPO are not engaged in prohibited drugs," he stressed.

Consulta added that 177 from station drug enforcement units, 21 chiefs of police from different towns and cities and 52 provincial police staff participated in the drug test conducted on September 13.

Consulta said the results of examination are important in proving to the public the commitment of the Philippine National Police on the war against illegal drugs.

After the clearance of the heads of stations, Consulta said he already ordered the chiefs of police to conduct drug examinations on their respective station personnel.

"Susunod na ang mga stations ko dito sa Pampanga. Ang sabi ko dapat bago matapos ang buwan matapos na sila lahat (My stations in Pampanga will follow suit. I said they should all be done with the test before the month ends)," he stressed.

Once proven that there are police officers engaged in illegal drugs, they will immediately be discharged and will be facing administrative and criminal charges, he said.
