Zamboanga City fire victims received financial aid

THE Zamboanga City Government has released P220,000 financial assistance to 57 families displaced by recent fire incidents in the city.

Data from the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) showed that 52 of the 57 families were displaced by the August 21 fire incident in the village of Sto. Niño.

The remaining five families were rendered homeless by the August 6 fire incident in the village of Upper Calarian.

Of the total, 28 families were house owners, whose houses were totally damaged and one partially destroyed.

Twenty-four families were house renter-sharers with totally damaged houses and one house renter-sharer with partially damaged house while three house boarders had totally damaged houses.

Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar spearheaded the distribution of the financial assistance at the City Hall conference room following the assessment and validation conducted by the CSWDO. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
