THE most awaited season for Korean enthusiasts is here again as the Cebu Korean Association, in partnership with SM Cebu City and the Cebu Provincial Government, will hold the 7th Cebu City Korea Day this Saturday at the Northwing Atrium of SM Cebu starting at 6 p.m.
The celebration, which is in cooperation with the Cebu City Tourism Commission, will feature a series of activities starting this Thursday until Sunday to let Cebuanos discover Korea’s culture, food, inspiring traditions, practices and more.
The Korea Film Festival will be from Thursday to Sunday at SM Cinema 5 with the theme “Boldness of Youth.” The festival features young characters who face various challenges in their lives.
Fans of the culture could drop by the SM Main Mall Atrium D on the lower ground floor from Friday to Sunday for the Korean Culture Exhibit and learn about the fascinating culture of one of East Asia’s fastest growing countries. People may also wear the hanbok or the traditional Korean dress; make “Tal” or key chain, make “In Jul Mi” or the Korean traditional dessert or make “Booche,” the Korean traditional hand fan.
The Korean Food Festival will be from Friday to Sunday at the SM V-hire Terminal Parking. Foodies could experience the taste of Korean food like tteok, kimchi, japchae, bulgogi and Korean rice wine.
Fans may witness the Cebu K-Pop Star grand finals on Friday at the Northwing Atrium at 6 p.m. There are 25 contenders in the competition.
On Korea Day, which is Saturday, mallgoers will be treated to special performances from Korean boy group Double 8, Bu-Ji-HWA Team and Namsan Samulnori Team at the Northwing Atrium at 6 p.m. (Patricia June Meramonte, CIT-U Intern)
