Stephen Loman, 1st Asian to compete for championship at Brave Combat Federation

BRAVE Combat Federation has announced that Stephen Loman from the Philippines will challenge Gurdarshan Mangat from Canada for the Bantamweight Championship Title at Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions.

Loman trains at Team Lakay and has represented Philippines in multiple MMA events globally.

The schedule fight marks for the first time a fighter from the Philippines is competing for a title opportunity at the Middle East-based MMA promotion.

With eight wins in his professional career, Loman is on a three-fight win streak. In his previous fight at the Brave Combat Federation, he defeated none other than one of the sparring partners of Conor McGregor, Frans Mlambo, who is trained by coach John Kavanagh at the SBG Gym.

In a fight that went the distance, Loman won by unanimous decision, showcasing the superiority and growth of MMA in the Philippines.

Mangat is on a six-fight win streak and in his previous fight, he defeated India’s top featherweight fighter, Abdul Muneer, in a catchweight fight that went one-sided, giving him a unanimous victory.

Mangat trains in Canada and has 10 victories in his professional career with a single loss.

Brave 9: The Kingdom of Champions will be held at Khalifa Sports City in Bahrain on November 17. The event will be held during the 2017 Brave International Combat Week, which also features IMMAF World Championships. (PR)
