Cop killed, 2 others wounded in gun attack

A POLICEMAN was killed while two others, including another policeman, were wounded in a gun attack in Zamboanga City, the police reported Wednesday.

Superintendent Ariston Limos, Police Station 11 chief, said the shooting occurred around 5:18 p.m. Tuesday along Agan Avenue in the village of Camino Nuevo, Zamboanga City.

Limos identified the slain policeman as Senior Police Officer 4 (SPO4) Abdurahman Estino, 46, who was assigned in Siocon, Zamboanga del Norte.

Wounded were Estino’s cousin, SPO2 Abdulmunir, 40, who is assigned in the province of Sulu and Leo Calago, a security guard.

Limos said the Estinos were leaving from a motorcycle shop when they were shot by one of two men riding on a motorcycle that stopped in front of the establishment.

Calago was hit by stray bullet when the gunman repeatedly shot the Estinos.

Limos said the victims were rushed to the nearby hospital where Abdurahman died while undergoing medical treatment.

Police investigation is ongoing.
