Power interruptions in Silay, Bacolod today

MAJOR portions of Silay City served by Central Negros Electric Cooperative (Ceneco) will experience power interruptions today, June 27.

Chuchie Destriza, general manager of Ceneco, said that in order to ensure stability of its distribution lines in the area, maintenance activities will be conducted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Affected areas are major parts of City Proper, Caneland (Aidsisa), Mansiguinon, portions of Barangays 1, 2, 3, 4, Lantawan, Guimbalaon, Kapitan Ramon, Patag, Barangays Mambulak, Rizal, Lantad, Hawaiian Central, Balaring, Sitios Bungol, Mambag-id, and Beraño.

Destriza said a replacement of rotten primary poles covering some areas of Bacolod City, particularly Gonzaga Feeder 6 and portion of Mountain View Feeder 2, will be conducted Sunday. Because of this, portions of Barangays Taculing and Mandalagan will also experience brownout from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Ceneco advises its consumers anew that in the event of any power interruption, electrical switches should be turned off for safety reasons.

When electricity supply resumes, households should provide an allowance of about 10 to 15 minutes before switching on all electrical appliances and facilities to avoid power surge.
