A HIGH-value target of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) was killed after resisting arrest during a major anti-criminality and anti-terrorism clearing operation on Friday at Abayon Village in Calinan, Davao City.
Davao City Police Office (DCPO) director Police Senior Superintendent Alexander Tagum said at about 1:45 a.m. Friday dawn, operatives of Toril Police Station (PS) served a search warrant against one Pango Beruar in his Calinan residence.
During the operation, he said the suspect fired upon the operatives using a .357 pistol. Thus, the operatives were forced to retaliate resulting to the killing of the suspect and the apprehension of his cohort identified as Abdul Beruar.
Authorities immediately called the 911 Emergency Medical Technicians (EMT) but the suspect was later declared dead.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) conducted an investigation and recovered 18 sachets of suspected shabu with market value of P60,000, one fragmentation hand grenade, one caliber .357 pistol loaded with four live ammunition and two empty shells, plus one live ammunition of caliber .357 and three live ammunitions of caliber .45 pistol.
