100 sacks of pirated discs seized in Bacolod

ABOUT a hundred sacks of pirated digital video discs (DVDs) and compact discs (CD) worth about P14 million were seized by a team of the Optical Media Board (OMB) at the De la Rama Arcade in Bacolod City Saturday afternoon.

Police records showed that Manuel Mangubat, chief of enforcement team and team leader Joseph Arnaldo of OMB-Manila, raided about 20 stalls inside the mall around 3 p.m.

OMB agents conducted the operation after they received reports about the continued proliferation of pirated discs in the city.

The confiscated items will be sent to the OMB office in Metro Manila for custody.

Charges for violation of Republic Act 9239 or Optical Media Act of 2003 will be filed against the owners of the stalls.
