'Drug pusher' killed in Naga shootout

A 30-YEAR-OLD suspected drug pusher was killed Monday night, October 2, in a shootout with policemen in Barangay Tinaan, City of Naga.

Police led by Senior Police Officer 2 Lucermindo Banaylo were conducting a drug bust at 9:50 p.m. in Sitio Reclamation against Jenyo Semilla, 30.

A cop posing as a buyer just turned over P200 pesos to Semilla when the latter noticed that he was dealing with police.

After accepting the money, Semilla ran to the back of his house, got his .38 pistol and jumped at the back window.

When police noticed Semilla escaping, Banaylo and his operatives started chasing him. The suspect started shooting at them.

The police returned fire; hitting the suspect in different parts of his body.

Semilla was immediately brought to the Minglanilla District Hospital but he died before reaching the facility.

After the operation, police recovered Semilla’s pistol, four small packs of suspected "shabu" (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and P200 pesos.

Meanwhile, two street-level drug sellers were arrested at dawn Tuesday, October 3, in a drug bust conducted by local police at Sitio Magay, Barangay Tanke, Talisay City.

Esteban Layaog, 41, and Jundy Gaviola, 20, were caught by local police selling illegal drugs.

Police recovered 13 small packs of shabu and .45 caliber pistol from the two men.

Police conducted the operation after receiving reports that a certain “Junior” was peddling illegal drugs at the area.
