Zsa Zsa Padilla talks about relationship, marriage

SINGER Zsa Zsa Padilla said she is no longer wishing for a big wedding once she and architect boyfriend Conrad Onglao decide to tie the knot.

According to the singer/actress, she prefers to keep it a simple celebration with their closest family and friends. She added that there's no exact date yet for their wedding.

"Hindi ko na siya ma-feel (need for a big wedding). I don't know if it's an age thing for me. Wala na kasi sa akin yun. Kung si Conrad kasi ang tatanungin, gusto niya. He was the one dreaming of it," she said in an interview on Monday at the press conference of her new movie "Bes and the Beshies" opposite Ai-Ai delas Alas.

"Sabi ko sa kanya na pagbigyan mo na ako, gusto ko tahimik lang talaga. It's more on the solemnity of us being husband and wife," she added.

Padilla also spoke about her short breakup with Onglao early last year. She said during that time, they had so many disagreements that she thought it was best to end the relationship.

She said she was firm in not getting back together again.

"I was so determined na tapos na. Sinara ko agad. Hindi ko alam kung bibigyan ko ba ng chance. Lahat ng pinapadala niyang bulaklak tinatapon ko. I was so mad," she said.

Later on, Padilla said she had unresolved issues and realized that she still loves Onglao in spite of their differences.

"I realized when I saw him, that I still love him. And when I was talking to him and we were ready to make a commitment to make some changes. I realized that there are issues that I want to resolve also that's why I decided to give us a chance," she said.

The Kapamilya star also admitted that after their reconciliation, the relationship was still volatile as she had a lot of past issues.

Padilla said she had to go through healing therapy to learn how to forgive and forget.

"I had to remember ibang tao si Conrad, iba kay Dolphy, whom I was in a 23-year relationship with, magka-iba yung ugali. Na-realized ko na lagi akong nasusunod, spoiled ako. It cannot be that way anymore because he's a different person," she said.

It took her some time to adjust and eventually resolve the problems.

She said Onglao has been very patient and would assure her always.

"Ang tagal kong makalimot sa mga issues ko. Binabalik balikan ko lagi. Na realized ko na for it to work, I need to forgive and forget. Tapos na and wala na. What works for me right now is that I set rules for myself. Number one of course is not to refer to the past. I feel that this works for me because ako yung nag set."

Padilla said the relationship is much stronger now and that they are both contented with their relationship.

The singer said she and Onglao are very similar in so many ways that they enjoy being together.

Asked what she likes best about the seasoned architect, the actress said Onglao is very giving, loving and caring.

"He's very thoughtful, mapag mahal siya and very affectionate. The most that I like about him is that he's very big when it comes to family," she ended.

Padilla and Onglao were last spotted together at the recently concluded 2017 Star Magic Ball. (SunStar Philippines)
