Real estate professionals gather in Oro

THE Cagayan de Oro Real Estate Board (Coreb) held a two-day grand meet for all real estate brokers and sales persons all over Cagayan de Oro last September 26 to 27 at the Dynasty Court Hotel, Cagayan de Oro City.

With the theme of “A Continuing Professional Development Program for Real Estate Practitioners,” the event was graced by Mayor Oscar Moreno, Eduardo Ong, the chairman of the Professional Regulatory Board of Real Estate Service, Director of Housing and Land Use Regulatory Board Charito Raagas, and Adviser of Coreb Gigi Roa.

Speaking before real estate brokers in the city, Ong underscored the importance of Republic Act No. 9646, known as the Cagayan de Oro Real Estate Board (Resa) of the Philippines, and why it should be supported by all real estate professionals.

Ong said it took them a couple of years to get the law approved.

"Resa took about 22 years bago ma-approve (before it was approved). It took us 22 years before it was approved and now we see and I also see personally that Resa is not perfect. We look forward to have amendments in the Resa in the next few years. Andami po (It’s many) and I am requesting and suggesting Coreb to submit a proposal on the amendments,” Ong said.

Ong also said opportunities are plenty for real estate professionals especially with Misamis Oriental booming and encouraged those who don't have licenses to work hard on their accreditation.

“I'm sure the licensed ones are already good, because you were trained to sell. What about those who are unlicensed, I will not ask you to show your hands but I will just beg you, I will just request you, I will just pray for you that you go to PRC (Professional Regulation Commission) for your accreditation license so that you can use that licensed so that you can use that license to market the property,” Chairman Ong said.

The event was participated by 39 real estate brokers and 55 sales persons.

The event was sponsored by Primavera City as the major sponsor and The Loop, Camella Euro Towers and Vivaldi Residences as minor sponsors.

Ong said the oath taking of those appraisers who passed the recent examination will be on October 17 at the Manila Hotel.
