Emar tops U5-Prisaa cagefest

THE newly-crowned YMCA (Young Men's Christian Association) champions Emar Human Environmental College (Ehec) Red Stags defeated Jose Maria College (JMC) Kings, 73-67, to secure its fourth title in the Unit-5 Private School Athletic Association (Prisaa) Meet High School Basketball Tournament held at the Southern Philippines Baptist Theological Seminary Incorporated (SPBTSI) Basketball Gym last September 30.

Emar, coached by Arturo "Jun-Jun" Montalban, will also make its fourth stint in the Davao City Athletic Association (DCAA) Meet.

"We will continue our regular practices and work hard," Montalban said, adding that they aim to defend the Prisaa regional crown.

He, however, said that Ateneo de Davao University, Ford Academy of Arts (FAA) and Holy Child College of Davao (HCCD) are tough teams they have to contend with in the city eliminations.

Emar will be reinforced by players from JMC, Agro-Industrial Foundation College of the Philippines (AIFCP) and Lamb of God Sped Academy.

Emar was composed of Thal Dolormente, Marvin Alejano, Jayson Estepa, Dexter Tabucanon, Ray Allen Cervantes, Jerold Medina, Stephen Bernales, Geeson Guianan, James Ryan Evangelista, Adrian Hawtay and Lapriza Joevienwill.
