Newly-established group eyes sports complex at SRP

BEFORE the year ends, Dynamic HERB Sports Inc. will start building a new multi-purpose sports complex at SRP that features an indoor stadium and a Fifa standard artificial turf that could be open to the public as soon as next year.

“We want to improve the lifestyle of people here in Cebu. We want to give them a good facility,” said Dynamic HERB Sports Inc. Managing Director Ugur Tasci yesterday in unveiling their plan for the sports stadium. HERB combines the first letter of the names of Ugur’s children.

The sports complex features a Fifa standard size artificial football pitch that can cater to sports like football, rugby, gridiron football and frisbee. It also has an indoor gymnasium with state-of-the-art flooring that caters to basketball, futsal, volleyball, badminton, tennis and handball.

“We want to build a culture of sports,” said Dynamic HERB Sports Inc. Marketing and Communications executive Astrid Erasga.

The facility also has a track for runners, parking space, shower rooms, locker rooms, offices for coaching staff, press box, dugout, gear rental services, medical and first aid facilities, and provisions for PWDs.

Tasci also said that the football field is open to any team--professional clubs and amateur clubs. It is also open for football festivals and football tournaments like the Aboitiz Football Cup and Thirsty Cup.

“I believe it is the first Fifa standard artificial field here in Cebu,” said Tasci. “Cebu deserves a standard football pitch.”

Construction will start before the year ends and it will be open to use as early as next year. (EKA)
