Nar Cabico launches 'Eksena' album

NAR Cabico proves he's not just an actor, but also a singer as he launched his first album "Eksena".

The Kapuso talent hosted a listening party last October 1 at Pineapple Lab in Makati City to formally launch his career in the music industry.

Cabico said he's not taking a backseat in acting but just doing different things all at the same time. He said it's like revisiting his first love, which is music.

"I'm just expanding myself more as an artist and nothing will change. I will still act and do teleseryes. This is just something new that I could offer to the audience. I feel that this is the right time to branch out," he said.

The singer/actor added that he wrote 10 songs in the album, which he hopes will capture the every day emotions and experiences we all go through.

"I hear a lot of songs now that definitely showcase the vocals of the singer. And I'm not going that direction. I'm after the message that I could impart to the listeners. My music is story driven," he said.

He described his music as fun, playful, full of passion, sometimes sad, but most of the time evokes happy thoughts.

"I hope that my work will speak for me. Yung music ko is something that will cater to bigger audience. It's a buffet of sound, it's a buffet of experience," he said.

Aside from the experiences of his friends, Cabico drew inspiration in this album from his long distance relationship with partner VJ Capule.

Before tying the knot in August, Cabico said they both had to go through many ups and downs together. He said distance made the relationship even more stronger.

The two had to go back and forth from Manila to the US regulary to make it work.

"When you find that special person and connection, you stick to that. You'll realize that distance is just a greater force telling you that love is what you need. That this is what I need," he added.

Asked for advise for those inspired by his love story and music, Cabico had only this to say, "Always choose love at the end of the day, and that includes love for yourself. Maikli lang ang galit, mas mahaba ang pag-ibig. It will conquer everything." (SunStar Philippines)
