Teenage boy shot by fisherman

A MALE teenager was injured after he was shot by a fisherman at Barangay Old Poblacion, Escalante City, Negros Occidental Tuesday, October 3.

The name of the 15-year old victim was withheld by the police.

Chief Inspector Rollie Pondevilla, city police chief, said the victim with his group stoned the house of suspect Joy Aresgado, 34, of Purok Coco Adelfa, in the said village.

The minor-victim sustained multiple gunshot wounds and was rushed to a hospital.

Aresgado escaped bringing with him an improvised firearm but he was arrested in a hot pursuit operation.

He was released from detention after the victim's family decided not to file charges against him.
