THE Zamboanga City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) announced that it has properly complied with liquidation requirements for funds allotted for the Supplementary Feeding Program (SFP) by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
CSWDO Chief Socorro Rojas made the clarification after Zamboanga City has been included in the “shame list” of local government units (LGUs) that have failed to liquidate the funds for the SFP.
Rojas said the city has submitted all the liquidation requirements as of August and has even returned over P4,000 as excess of the total P26 million released for the feeding program in 2016.
Rojas said the supposed DSWD “shame list” of LGUs that has not liquidated the funds, as published in newspapers, has not been updated.
She said the reckoning date of the supposed list is as of June 2017 and the City Government, through the City Accounting Department, has submitted documents last August.
“We have records to prove that the funds have been properly liquidated and besides we are set to receive P29 million for another feeding program this year,” she said.
The feeding program in this city is intended for the over 16,000 pre-school children in 350 day care centers.
Per child the amount to be spent is P16 per day for a feeding program of 120 days. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
