TWO alleged drug personalities were killed, while two others were wounded after being hit by strayed bullets, in a separate shooting incidents perpetrated by unidentified gunmen in Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental, last Thursday, October 5.
Authorities identified the fatalities as Ranilo Jimenez of Barangay Mohon and Walter Quinquiño of Barangay Sta. Cruz. While Quinquiño's son Junwalts and the latter's common law wife Jessamay Tequillo, who is three months pregnant, were both wounded.
Police said five unidentified male suspects armed with long and short handguns arrived and forcibly entered the house of Jimenez around 8 p.m. and immediately shot the victim.
Jimenez sustained seven gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
According to the victim's wife, the suspects were wearing black jacket and bull cap and have left the area after killing the victim.
The Scene of the Crime Operatives (Soco) recovered used cartridges of an M16 rifle and caliber 45 pistol at the crime scene.
Barely two hours later, Quinquiño's family was reportedly attacked by a lone gunman.
Police said Quinquiño died after sustaining two gunshot wounds on the head while his son Junwalts and Tequillo were hit by stray bullets and were rushed to the hospital.
Senior Inspector Corrine Mae Estigoy, MisOr-PPO spokesperson, said Tequillo and the baby inside her womb are now in stable condition.
Estigoy said Quinquiño is number five in the drug list-municipal level and previously heeded with the police's "Oplan Tokhang" while Jimenez
was previously charged with malicious mischief and is said to be involved in the illegal drug trade.
Estigoy said investigators are looking at the suspects' illegal drug activities as possible motive of the killing.
"Ang motibo nga nakita sa kapolisan is posible in relation sa drug activities pero wala pa gyud concrete nga ma-establish ang motive kay ongoing pa ang investigation," Estigoy said.
"Accordingly lahi-lahi ang mga suspects sa duha ka mga shooting incidents," Estigoy added.
Authorities are still investigating the incident in order to identify the perpetrators.
