Guard wounded in Pagadian gun attack

A SECURITY guard was wounded in a gun attack in Pagadian City, Zamboanga del Sur province, the police said Saturday, October 6.

The incident happened around 5 p.m. Friday at Purok Bagong Silang in the village of Balangasan, Pagadian City.

The police identified the victim as Eddie Diwa, 38, a security guard and a resident of Balangasan village.

The police said that Diwa was on his way to the house of his mother-in-law when the suspect, Socime Nilmeda, 34, punched him.

The police said that Nilmeda allegedly chased and shot Diwa with a handgun after the victim run towards the house of his mother-in-law.

The victim was hospitalized while the suspect fled after the incident, the police said. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
