5-year-old boy dies in Zambo Sur highway accident

THE police has launched a manhunt operation against the driver of a truck that bumped and killed a five-year-old boy in the province of Zamboanga del Sur, the police said Saturday, October 6.

Subject of the manhunt is the driver of a white pick-up truck with registered plate number SKD-166, according to the Zamboanga del Sur Police Provincial Office.

The police said the incident happened around 12:52 p.m. Friday along the national highway at Purok Lover’s Lane in the village of San Jose, Aurora.

Investigation showed the pick-up truck bumped the boy after he suddenly crossed the road. The police did not release the name of the victim.

The police said the boy, who sustained injuries, failed to reach the hospital alive.

The police said the truck sped off towards the village of Esperanza in the Aurora’s adjoining municipality of Ramon Magsaysay. (SunStar Philippines)
