FARMER Anastacia Gabotero said Monday, that personnel of the Philippine National Police Special Action Force (SAF) and the Army’s 62nd Infantry Battalion strafed her house in Sitio Lacanon, Barangay Pinapugasan, Escalante City last September 28.
She said in an interview at the Negros Press Club office in Bacolod City Monday, October 9, that these law enforcers should rebuild her damaged home.
Gabotero added that they said she is among the supporters of the New People’s Army being a member of the National Federation of Sugar Federation since 1999.
She denied it, saying she is just a farmer and doesn’t engage in any act that shows support to the rebel group.
Gabotero said the strafing incident occurred at about 4 a.m. and more than a hundred shells of bullets that were fired on her house.
Twelve other farmers were arrested along with Gabotera and detained at the detachment until 4 pm.
“I was with my grandson and we took refuge in an old concrete area for protection. We were not harmed but our house was badly damaged by the strings of bullets which came from these law enforcers,” she said.
