Employee tests positive for drugs

A CASUAL employee of Capitol tested positive during the mandatory drug test conducted by the Cebu Provincial Anti-Drug Abuse Office (CPADAO) last Monday.

CPADAO chief Ivy Durano-Meca said, though, that the result is still subject for a confirmatory test.

Last Monday, 517 Capitol employees took the drug test at the Capitol Social Hall.

Meca said that if an employee tests positive of illegal drug use, they will assess his or her degree of addiction and the employee will have to voluntarily submit his or her self for rehabilitation.

Those who do not undergo rehabilitation may face an administrative complaint.

Aside from employees of Capitol, Meca said they have also been conducting drug tests for Philippine National Police personnel in the different police stations in the province. (Angel Mae Bellita, USJ-R Intern)
