FOUR months after its soft opening, The Pyramid is now a sought-after destination in casual but trendy dining.
Ressana Jimenez, general manager at The Pyramid, said the wine pub and restaurant has been getting frequent visits from both local and foreign guests, with locals cornering a big share of the market. “We want our customers to experience luxury at a friendly price.” Besides its food and wine choices, Jimenez said the restaurant’s architectural structure boosted its image.
“People come here, first, to see what’s inside and then they try our food. After that, they come back and bring along with them their friends and families,” she said.
She admitted though, that they went through a challenge during the first few months.
“It was a rough start. We didn’t anticipate the huge traffic during our soft-opening days. But, like any other new kid on the block, it is part of the learning curve.”
Putting in mind the concerns of clients, they expanded their kitchen so it could cater to twice their capacity. They also improved their services and menu.
The Pyramid is owned by Korean entrepreneur Kobi Choi, who also owns Coffee Prince. Choi came to Cebu as an ESL student but fell in love with the Cebuanos’ warm hospitality and saw opportunities in its vibrant dining landscape. Choi saw the tourism potential of Cebu and its close affinity to the Korean culture.
