Skim and Surf camp in Mati

THE Davao Oriental Boardriding Club will hold a three-day Skim and Surf Camp to be facilitated by no less than international skimboarding champion Sonny Boy "Yogi" Aporbo. The camp is scheduled on October 27 to 29 at the Dahican Surf Resort in Mati City.

Club president Grace Plata told Sun.Star Davao yesterday that the camp serves as a fund-raising event. The proceeds will fuel the four-member Davao Region team in the ongoing Philippine Surfing Championship Tour (PSCT).

Aporbo along with RodelPatawi, ChitoPlania and Jasper Jeb Consigna will don the region's colors in three succeeding dates.

They will compete in Lanuza, Surigaodel Sur on November 5 to 11 then also in Baler, Aurora on November 29 and in La Union on December 6 to 10.

Plata, however, expects 15 to 20 participants to join the camp to help sustain the financial needs of the team.

The registration is pegged at P3,800 inclusive of accommodation, meals and a chance to experience the beauty of the skim boarding capital of the Philippines.
