Celebrity Engagements

IT LOOKS like 2017 is a good year to be engaged. Here are 14 pairs of celebrities who proudly got engaged this year. And with a couple of months left before the year ends, there is still time for others to join the bandwagon. Who will get engaged next?

Kit Harington & Rose Leslie

They fell in love on the set of “Game of Thrones.” But while Jon Snow and Ygritte’s love story did not survive the fourth season, the real-life love story of Kit Harington and Rose Leslie did. The couple formally announced their engagement in the newspaper late last month. They have been together since 2012. While Harington did not say when the wedding will take place, he did mention in the “Jonathan Ross Show” that he asked “Game of Thrones” producers to pause filming of the final season so the people involved in the show can attend the wedding. But any fan would know that a wedding involving “Game of Thrones” is not going to be pretty—just kidding!

Kirsten Dunst & Jesse Plemons

Kirsten Dunst sure knows how to make lemonade when life throws lemons. The actress got engaged to her “Fargo” co-star Jesse Plemons at the start of the year. She said that she was in sweats when Plemons proposed to her because she was sick. “I was a little sick when (he proposed), which was funny. But that’s good. Sickness and in health, you know…” she told late-night host Jimmy Fallon.

The couple are practicing celibacy until their wedding in December.

With the backdrop of the snowy Zermatt town in Switzerland, Sarah Lahbati and Richard Gutierrez, who are already parents to four-year-old Zion, got engaged. They have been together since 2012.
