Davao mayor: Nothing can make the President insecure

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio said that detractors and survey ratings cannot make her father, President Rodrigo Duterte feel insecure.

"How can he be insecure when he is the president? When you are the president, there is nothing that will make you feel insecure, not survey results or a person like Trillanes or a power-hungry group called Tindig Pilipinas," Duterte-Carpio said in a social media post yesterday.

She issued the statement after Tindig Pilipinas, a coalition of cause oriented groups, described the president on its October 14 statement as "paranoid" and "insecure little man losing power" in line with his earlier declaration that there is a need to impose a revolutionary government upon the people.

Based on report from SunStar Philippines, President Rodrigo Duterte warned that he will impose a revolutionary government if his political rivals would push through with their plan to undermine his administration and remove him from office.

The President made the warning in an interview with broadcaster Erwin Tulfo aired on government-owned PTV4 Friday night. "If your destabilization seems to prosper and it becomes chaotic, I will not hesitate to declare a revolutionary government until the end of my term," Duterte said.

Duterte-Carpio said groups and individuals who reacted negatively on her father's statement were apparently committing an act of self-defense to conceal their intentions against the Duterte administration

"The threat of destabilization is as real as terrorism," she said.

"Power grabbers have made their point, made their presence felt, caught our attention, and we know who they are," said Duterte-Carpio.

Duterte Carpio added that the president is also not "paranoid".

"Of course he is not," she said.

"All his destabilization claims are from intel reports and reliable sources from inside the offices of the people identified with the opposition," Duterte-Carpio said.
