A MAN was stabbed and shot in front of a sari-sari store in Purok Kametal, Barangay Bata, Bacolod City Sunday morning, October 15.

Wounded was Leo Pelayo, 43, of the said village.

Senior Inspector Jun Ray Batadlan, head of Police Station 3, said Pelayo and his wife were on board a motorcycle around 11 a.m. when suspect Rico Puzon followed the couple.

When they reached the store, Puzon attacked Pelayo with a knife. He stabbed the latter twice and fired at him using a .45 caliber pistol.

Puzon escaped, leaving the victim injured. Pelayo’s wife was unharmed. Pelayo is confined at a hospital.

Batadlan said they are eyeing grudge as the motive.
