SLDC embarks on first vertical projects

TWO new vertical projects will rise in Davao City as Santos Land Development Corporation (SLDC) launched last October 6, 2017 the Ivory Residences Condominium and Obsidian Suites Hotel in J.P. Laurel St., Bajada, Davao City.

This first twin development project of SLDC will rise on a 4,700 sq. meters area and are aligned to the local and national government's tourism roadmap.

“This year, we will be celebrating our 46th founding anniversary and this project marks another milestone for us. This is the first condotel project Santos Land has ventured into and we would like to tell you that we will give it our best efforts with the foremost intention and desire to give our clients the best product and excellent service,” SLDC President Antonio Nicolas Domingo said.

The projects are eyed to be finished by 2020.

“This is also one of the 10 priority industries of our City Mayor (Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio), the investments on tourism and business convention centers, and we want to support that,” Maria Ramona T. Cutler, project coordinator (administrative) for the twin projects.

Domingo added that they carefully planned long and hard before committing to this almost billion peso-worth project.

“Hotels, accommodation rooms are the need of the time, we want to be part of the solution of the shortage of rooms in the city,” he said adding that they already consulted with Davao City Investment Promotions Center and the Department of Tourism.

The condominium

The Ivory Residences, as described, is an 18-storey tower with 330 units (of various sizes) and is capable of housing approximately 120 parking units spread out over three floors.

The amenities building adjacent to the condo has a swimming pool and features a two-storey clubhouse and a nice outdoor park that connects to the 3rd floor Obsidian hotel.

Another garden park is situated on the tower roof deck.

The condo is also compliant with the Green Building Code under the National Building Act and features the latest info tech services for the residents.

The hotel

Based on its project primer, Obsidian Suites is a 10-storey business hotel with a roof deck. It will feature some 90 rooms ranging from superior, deluxe, junior and executive, themed suites.

There will be different-sized meeting rooms as well as two 50-seater function rooms that can convert into a mid-sized ballroom. There will also be two restaurant outlets, one on the ground floor while the other one is at the roof deck

“The site is so near to government facilities and shopping malls thus offering our buyers the best location and convenience everyone so desires,” Domingo said.

SLDC sales and marketing manager Estella Aguilos said, sales performance of the condominium is performing well even before its launching.

“We are in pre-selling now and we already sold 10 percent of the total number of units. We hope to sell all the units by the end of the year,” Aguilos said.

The units are targeted to be delivered to clients on or before October 31, 2020. ASP
