Dole releases P4-M livelihood packages

THE Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) has released almost P4-million worth of livelihood starter kits for the implementation of income-generating projects in the province of Zamboanga del Sur.

Dole-Zamboanga del Sur head Camilo Encilla Jr. said the livelihood starter kit packages were intended for five towns and an entrepreneur based in Pagadian City.

Encilla said the distribution of the livelihood packages, held last week, was spearheaded by Dole Regional Director Sisinio Cano.

Encilla said the five beneficiary-towns and the corresponding starter kits packages are: Ramon Magsaysay, P2.4 million; Lakewood, P500,000; Mahayag, P500,000; Aurora, P304,200; and Kumalarang, P205,000.

He said the distribution of livelihood starter kits is an intervention of Dole aimed to uplift the income-generating projects and livelihood of the identified beneficiaries.

The livelihood starter kits consist of services package that will provide the beneficiaries skills training and the needed tools to enable them start livelihood undertakings, he added. (Bong Garcia/PR)
