North Yard Food Park: The newest, buzziest destination

IF YOU’RE trying to figure out where to eat and hang out next, the North Yard Food Park is the perfect place for drinks with friends or a quick nearby food trip.

The North Yard, which officially opened its doors last Friday, is Angeles City’s newest go-to destination which serves a whole host of local and international cuisines in one place.

The hip and eclectic food park is owned by no other than Angeles City Councilor Jericho Aguas.

In an interview with SunStar Pampanga, the 37-year-old public official and businessman shared that he envisioned bringing in the food park concept in Pampanga to spice up the local dining scene in the province.

“The food park craze continue to grow in Manila, and we’ve seen that its viable to bring the trend here in Pampanga,” he said.

“While there are other food parks here in the province, we made sure that the North Yard will be a stand out. And we did that by focusing first on our food selections. We personally hand-picked all our tenants and made it a requirement that each offers one of a kind fares,” he added.

Aguas said that he also made sure that the food park will have its edge in terms of ambiance and atmosphere. It features interesting murals that are not only refreshing to look at, but are so Instagrammable, too!

“We really put a lot of effort and resources to make this food park as unique, upbeat, and not to mention as lively and colorful as possible. This is because we wanted a convenient and fun place for friends, families, and foodies not only from Pampanga but from the whole Central Luzon,” he noted.

The newly-opened food park is home to over 29 food concessionaires which offers delectable treats and specialties from around the world—so you have a wealth of choices to satisfy your food cravings.

“Our diners will not run out of food choices here because we serve a wide range of cuisines, from Filipino, Japanese, Korean, Persian, Italian, American, and Mongolian, you name it,” he said.

He added that he also has his own food stall inside the 1,700 square-meter complex, which can accommodate up to 500 diners.

“I own one stall here, the Papa Dough Chimney Cake, which concept came all the way from Hungary. The venture offers delicious chimney cakes with out-of-the-box flavors you can only find at the North Yard,” he shared.

Aside from gastronomic fares and scintillating drinks, diners who will visit the food park are also sure to enjoy exciting entertainment during weekends.

“Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday, we have bands, comedians, and other personalities. Just like today at our grand launch, we invited several celebrities that will perform on the center stage,” Aguas said.

The opening event was highlighted by special performances of Viva Hot Babes Maui Taylor, Jaycee Parker, and Katya Santos and celebrities Zara Lopez, Petti Smith, Matt Evens, Tonyo, and Bugoy Drilon.

A “Super Sale” bazaar which offers bags, shoes, clothing, and other merchandise was also opened to the public. The bazaar offers “buy 1 take 1” and 50 percent off promo until December.

The North Yard Food Park is located at Magalang-Pandan Road, Corner Brgy. Mining Road, Angeles City, Pampanga. It is open from 4 p.m. to 12 a.m. For more updates, check out its official Facebook page: North Yard Food Park. (Erika Mariel Gines)
