CEBU City Mayor Tomas Osmeña sees the death of the top leaders of the armed group behind the war in Marawi City as proof of how well the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) is doing.
Osmeña said the Marawi experience has now given the AFP the best soldiers in close-quarter combat.
“No (spillover). The Philippine Government has come out very strong. The soldiers were fighting vigorously for over four months. It’s hard to undergo that training,” he said.
“Should something like this happen again, there’s nothing that could match our troops’ experience,” he said. (RTF)
