Alaska Aces should pick Macmac Tallo

WITH Cebuano Dondon Hontiveros exiting Alaska Aces this year, another young and hopeful guard Cebuano is coming in through the tough rookie draft for the next season.

Two time Cebu School Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) MVP Macmac Tallo is reportedly being targeted by the Aces for the coming draft set on Oct. 29 at the Robinson’s place in Manila.

It will be a a wise decision for the Aces, who badly need extra shooting hands at the back court. The Aces had a dismal season after getting eliminated by Barangay Ginebra in the Philippine Cup, and

finishing disappointing 9th in both the Commissioner’s Cup and the Governor’s Cup.

The Aces will pick 6th in the draft behind perennial bottom teams Kia, NLEX, Blackwater, Phoenix and Globalport.

If the teams are in their proper minds, they would select be the top players lined up for the drafting. Tall and hard working Filipino-German 6ft7, Christian Standhardinger is surely the first

pick followed by Kiefer Ravena and Jeron Teng.

Chooks-To-Go Pilipinas members Raymar Jose and Jett Manuel should make up the top five.

And then the Aces will pick next. We do not know the minds of the Alaska management. But I am sure they will need an exciting point guard to beef up their back court for the coming PBA wars. They need a high scoring, high leaping and young point guard to help superstar Calvin Abueva.

Macmac Tallo fits the job. He is an exciting slam dunking point guard who has high percentage shooting skills from the arc. He is also tall for a point guard and has added some bulk in preparation for the PBA.

Remember June Mar Fajardo and Greg Slaughter. They were former MVP’s in the Cesafi. Look where they are now.
