Suspected American pedophile intercepted at Naia

IMMIGRATION and police operatives have collared a suspected American pedophile who was supposed to meet in Manila with minor children in order to have sex with them, the Bureau of Immigration said Monday.

Robin Hoyt Alderman, 58, had just arrived from Ho Chi Minh City on October 19 when he was intercepted by authorities at the immigration arrival area of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 2 in Pasay City.

Elements from the Philippine National Police-Women and Children Protection Center then took Alderman into custody and brought him to Camp Crame where he is undergoing investigation.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said the US embassy earlier tipped the BI about Alderman’s trip to Manila and his intention to meet with his minor victims whom he had contacted via the Internet while he was abroad.

The BI said will Alderman will only be deported if the charges that will be filed against him are dropped or if he has already served his sentence if convicted. (YJG/SunStar Philippines)
