THE Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) issued a Memorandum Circular mandating student fare discount to be applicable even on holidays and summer breaks.
Memorandum Circuclar No. 2017-024 issued last October 11 amended Memorandum Circular No. 2005-014, stating:
"Students can avail of twenty percent (20%) discount from Monday to Sunday including summer breaks, legal and special legal holidays."
The discount, however, does not apply to post-graduate students, referring to those taking up Medicine, Law, Masteral, and doctoral degrees, and the like.
The amendment granting student discount will be effective on October 28.
The memorandum circular was signed by LTFRB chair lawyer Martin Delgra III, board members Engineer Ronaldo Corpus and lawyer Aileen Lourdes Lizada, and executive director lawyer Augustine Vestil Jr.
