ITS back to gym for Dayer Gabutan as he guns for the Philippine Boxing Federation's bantamweight title November 26 at the CCDC Gym.
Although no opponent has been named yet, Gabutan will headline the Highland Boxing and DMAD Promotions backed event dubbed "War in the North."
"We want to test Gabutan sa local muna then we hope to bring him outside the country again and vie for a regional crown in the future," said promoter Brico Santig in an earlier interview.
Gabutan, who hails from Besao, MT. Province, is fresh from a second round technical knockout victory in September this year against Roilo Golez in their rematch.
The victory improved Gabutan's record to 20 victories with 11 coming via knockout with six loses and three draws.
Gabutan earlier held the WBO Oriental bantamweight title from 2010 to 2012 defending the belt six times.
Undefeated KJ Natuplag will co-headline the event as part of the Adivay Festival coinciding with Benguet's founding anniversary.
Natuplag, who hails from Ifugao will also eye the country's featherweight title after stopping fellow up and coming fighter Bener Santig in the first round of their supposed six round encounter also last September.
The 20-year-old Natuplag also holds LuzProBa bantamweight crown by defeating Bryan Tamayo in November last year.
